Le Pont de l'Hospital Chambre d'Hôte is situated right on the banks of the river Maronne about 400 metres from where it joins with the River Dordogne. The house is surrounded by fields and walking from the font door you very soon find yourself beside a waterfall or in a totally unspoilt valley with orchids and any number of other wild flowers. If you are interested in fishing the Maronne is a Premier Category trout river and the brown trout abound. There are 5 rivers within 20 minutes of the house for trout and grayling and masses of lakes and rivers well known for the size of their carp and pike.

The delightful market town of Argentat is only about 3 kilometres away with its attractive riverside restaurants and other excellent eating-places. The area is well known for its good food and wine; there are many others within easy reach and we will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Other activities include: fishing, canoeing, riding, walking, hang gliding, swimming, tennis, golf, etc. Reception for most mobile phones work..'Orange network' is poor at the house, but fine on the other side of the bridge.
