The caves in the area

The area, naturally blessed by nature, has many spectacular caves, some of which are open to the public.

Probably the most famous caves of all are those in the Gouffe de Padirac, which consists of an enormous, deep, almost cylindrical hole in the ground, and then deeper into the hillside there are underwater lakes along which the visitor is taken.
